South African Guild of Mobility Journalists
Established in 1962, the South African Guild of Mobility Journalists (SAGMJ) is a dynamic, voluntary, non-profit organisation. For 59 years, our members have been publishers, editors, writers, photographers, broadcasters and automotive industry experts who collectively shaped and contributed to the development of modern-day motoring journalism.
The Guild uses its members’ combined influence to inform the automotive public of new products, market developments, technology and road safety.
We facilitate members to attain professional excellence by assisting individuals entering the field in developing their skills through our evolving mentoring-, training-, and upliftment platforms.
The Guild established the Affiliate Membership category to include digital content creators, and at the 2021 Annual General Meeting, the Guild’s name was changed to “South African Guild of Mobility Journalists”. The internal combustion engine will soon be replaced by hybrid and electric systems. With “Mobility”, the SAGMJ will be relevant for at least the next 25 years.
The SAGMJ is committed to remaining a valued, professional guild for the motor content creators of today and the future of mobility multi-media tomorrow.
