The Mahindra Mzansi App, developed to give customers a seamless ownership experience, is now available to customers of Mahindra tractors and farming equipment.
The announcement follows closely on the 18 November official announcement by Mahindra that it would take full control of its farming division, which was previously operated by an independent sub-distributor.
Designed to fully digitise the ownership experience, the Mzansi Mahindra App was developed to give customers of the brand’s bakkies and SUVs a quick and easy way of finding a suitable dealership, booking a service and communicating with Mahindra’s customer service division.
Since then, the app has evolved to also give owners a steady stream of relevant information, including tutorials on how the parts of every vehicle work, information on new products and other developments from the wide world of Mahindra and up-to-date specifications and price lists.
For customers of Mahindra’s farming equipment, the app offers the additional benefit of logging vehicle services and all warranty-related information.
Says Rajesh Gupta, CEO of Mahindra South Africa: “Tractors and other farm equipment are true commercial vehicles. As such, any downtime for non-scheduled services or while waiting for a part to be delivered will have an impact on the farmer’s bottom line.
“With the Mzansi Mahindra App, farmers can avoid this by quickly logging their services and warranty calls and allowing us, in partnership with their local dealer, to offer immediate support.”
Mahindra announced in November that it will offer one of the best mechanical warranties in South Africa on its entire tractor range, thanks to the intended use of the Mzansi App.
Each tractor receives a complimentary mechanical warranty with up to 3 years or 3 000 hours of support. This is at least 50% longer than the industry standard.
Each tractor is also sold with a 2-year, 2 000-hour service kit to reduce the cost of ownership.
Lastly, the group committed itself to a 3 working day turnaround on any tractor breakdown. This is made possible to farmers who log their claims and service information through the Mahindra Mzanzi app.

“By extending the app’s functionality to our tractor customers, we are aiming to providing the same world class service to our tractor customers, as we have been doing to our customers of passenger and commercial vehicles,” says Rajesh.
Mahindra is the world’s largest tractor brand by sales and its network of products extends beyond Mahindra tractors and implements to also include Sampo Rosenlew of Finland, Mitsubishi Mahindra Agri Machinery of Japan, and Hisarlar and Erkunt from Turkey.
The group was the first and only tractor manufacturer to receive the Japan Quality Medal for its tractors and it is one of the most popular tractor brands on the African continent.
